AngloGold Ashanti reported a decrease in gold production for the second quarter and first half ended June 30, 2026.
Group gold output for the second quarter fell to 744,000 ounces. This marks a decline from the 804,000 ounces produced in the second quarter of 2025. First-half production reached 1.468 million ounces. This figure is down from 1.524 million ounces recorded in the first half of the previous year.
The company attributed the softer output to operational challenges across Africa, Australia, and the Americas. Portfolio adjustments, including the sale of Serra Grande, also impacted results. Key operations at Geita and Obuasi saw notable production decreases.
These operational metrics precede the full financial results. The company will report its full earnings before the market opens.
