Aurora Innovation signed an agreement with Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary McLane Company to launch driverless truck routes in Texas.

The partnership follows a pilot program launched in 2023. Aurora’s autonomous trucks covered more than 280,000 miles during the trial. The vehicles completed 1,400 deliveries with a 100% on-time performance rate.

Initial driverless operations will connect Dallas and Houston. Aurora plans to expand service to other U.S. Sun Belt routes by the end of 2026.

The collaboration uses a hybrid model where the Aurora Driver manages long-haul middle miles. McLane’s human drivers will handle local deliveries. This initiative aims to improve supply chain efficiency for McLane’s restaurant, convenience store, and mass merchant clients.
