A new CloudBolt survey of 302 North American enterprise IT decision-makers reveals a significant shift away from VMware following its acquisition by Broadcom. Approximately 86% of respondents are actively taking steps to reduce their VMware footprint. This data suggests a gradual reduction in reliance rather than an immediate or total departure from the platform.

Concerns regarding future pricing and operational complexity serve as the primary drivers for this trend. While 88% of respondents express anxiety over potential cost increases, extreme price hikes have not yet materialized for most users. Only 5% of surveyed companies reported price increases of 100% or more since the acquisition.
