Broadcom launched a new unified Wi-Fi 8 platform, expanding its wireless solutions portfolio. The announcement includes the BCM4918 accelerated processing unit (APU). Broadcom also introduced two new dual-band Wi-Fi 8 devices: the BCM6714 and the BCM6719.
This new platform supports the increasing demands of the AI-driven connected home ecosystem. It integrates higher throughput, advanced security, and on-device AI and machine learning inference.
The initiative enables operators to deliver secure and power-efficient AI applications to residential users. This move expands Broadcom's addressable market in edge AI and connectivity. The platform supports future revenue streams within the large Semiconductor Solutions segment.
