Alibaba Group is significantly expanding its investment in super-scale computing infrastructure to meet the surging demand from the artificial intelligence industry. The company is in the process of building a 'super AI cloud' to handle the explosive growth and technological requirements of AI. At the World Internet Contest in Wuzhen, CEO Eddie Wu Yongming stated the necessity of accumulating super-scale infrastructure and full-stack technology to serve the industry. This initiative aligns with a previously decided plan to invest 380 billion yuan (approximately 74 trillion won) over the next three years, reinforcing China's goal of technological independence. Wu emphasized that the world is transitioning from the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) era to the super-intelligence (ASI) era. He positioned Alibaba to become a full-stack AI service company providing the essential computing backbone for all industries, signaling a significant long-term strategic focus for the tech giant.
