Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. denied all connections to a U.S. investigation regarding the smuggling of restricted Nvidia AI chips into China.
The company confirmed it has no business relationship with Super Micro, OBON, or other brokers named in the U.S. Justice Department probe.
Alibaba stated it has never used banned Nvidia chips within its data centers.
A Bloomberg report previously identified Alibaba as a potential customer for servers routed through Thailand to bypass U.S. export controls.
The denial precedes Alibaba’s fourth-quarter earnings report scheduled for May 13.
Investors remain focused on the performance of the company’s cloud and AI divisions under increasing geopolitical pressure.
