Alibaba is opening its Qwen consumer AI application to third-party companies. This allows brands to build and operate their own AI agents directly within the platform. The initiative transitions Qwen from a standard chatbot into a digital assistant capable of handling real-world transactions.

Initial partners include KFC, Luckin Coffee, Mixue Group, and China Eastern Airlines. Users can now perform tasks such as ordering food, making payments, and booking travel through conversational commands.

KFC is the first brand to go live, connecting more than 13,000 stores across China. The Qwen app already processes over 100 million daily lifestyle service interactions.
