Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI has released its new open-source model, Kimi K2.5, along with a coding agent and an 'Agent Swarm' feature. The model is a multimodal system trained on 15 trillion text and visual tokens, designed for complex tasks including visual understanding and advanced coding. The new Agent Swarm capability can coordinate up to 100 sub-agents to complete tasks, a feature aimed at enterprise users.
Moonshot AI, considered one of China's "AI Tigers," is backed by major tech giants including Alibaba and Tencent. This release intensifies the global AI race, positioning the company as a stronger competitor to Western firms like OpenAI and Google. The open-source nature of Kimi K2.5 is intended to accelerate innovation and adoption within China's technology sector.
