Bank of America hired UBS veteran Richard Hardegree as vice chair of mergers and acquisitions, according to a May 8 internal memo. Hardegree brings over 30 years of investment banking experience to the role. He will join the firm in August and be based in Palo Alto, California.
The appointment follows a broader Wall Street trend of poaching talent to capture rebounding deal activity. Bank of America aims to strengthen its technology division and increase market share through the move.
Hardegree specializes in the semiconductor sector. He previously advised on high-profile transactions, including Broadcom's acquisition of VMware.
