BlackBerry has transitioned from a smartphone manufacturer to a software-focused company. Its QNX division now powers 275 million vehicles worldwide.

The QNX unit generates 50% of BlackBerry’s total revenue. This division has achieved four consecutive quarters of profitability.

Major automakers use the QNX real-time operating system (RTOS) for safety-critical functions. These include advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as collision warnings and adaptive cruise control.

The software serves as a foundational component for the software-defined vehicle market. This focus on reliability has established QNX as the company's primary growth engine.
