BHP Group appointed Brandon Craig as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1. Craig currently serves as President for the Americas and will succeed Mike Henry. Henry departs after leading the company for six and a half years.

The internal appointment follows a formal succession process involving a 25-year company veteran. Craig previously led the Western Australian Iron Ore division as a low-cost producer. In his current role, he manages growth strategies for copper and potash.

Under Henry’s leadership, BHP divested its petroleum assets to focus on industrial metals. The company now ranks as the world’s largest copper producer. Craig’s elevation signals a commitment to this long-term strategic direction.
