NexGen Energy is negotiating with BHP Group regarding its Rook I project in Saskatchewan, Canada. The developer aims to raise approximately $1 billion for the project. It plans to secure this funding over the next nine months. The project ranks as one of the world's largest potential uranium mines.

CEO Leigh Curyer confirmed both companies are sharing technical information through an open dialogue. BHP currently produces uranium as a byproduct at its Olympic Dam mine in Australia. The mining giant is reassessing the sector as global demand for nuclear power grows.

NexGen is exploring various financing options, including debt and equity. A partnership with BHP would represent a significant step in securing the necessary capital.
