Baidu, Uber, and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) partnered to launch the Apollo Go autonomous ride-hailing service in Dubai. The service will integrate into the Uber app within the next month, initially serving select areas of the city.
The initiative supports Dubai’s strategic mandate to complete 25% of all transportation trips autonomously by 2030. This collaboration represents a significant step in Baidu’s global expansion for its self-driving technology.
Baidu’s Apollo Go platform has recorded more than 240 million autonomous kilometers globally. Shares of Baidu declined slightly in premarket trading following the announcement.
