Bumble’s total paying users dropped 21.1% year-over-year to 3.2 million in the first quarter. Revenue declined 14.1% to $212.4 million.
Net earnings jumped 165.4% to $52.6 million. Average revenue per paying user increased 8.9%. This growth indicates a smaller but more valuable customer base.
Management described the user decline as a deliberate move to improve the ecosystem. The company is developing a reimagined experience on a new AI-enabled platform for a major relaunch later this year. This strategy aims to attract higher-quality members. Second-quarter revenue guidance fell below analyst estimates.
