Bank of Montreal (BMO) has reportedly resumed negotiations to acquire Australian stockbroker and corporate adviser Euroz Hartleys. These talks follow initial discussions regarding a potential strategic stake reported in August 2025.
Euroz Hartleys shares surged over 12% on June 4, 2026. The potential deal would grant BMO a strategic foothold in Western Australia’s resource-focused equities and capital markets.
Euroz Hartleys would gain a larger balance sheet and expanded access to institutional clients. Reports suggest BMO may acquire the corporate finance division while leaving the wealth management arm as a separate listed entity.
Deliberations are reportedly advancing after negotiations appeared to stall 10 months ago.
