Boxer Retail Managing Director Marek Masojada will retire at the end of February 2027, after more than three decades with the discount supermarket chain. Under his leadership, Boxer grew from five stores to a network of 600. The company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in November 2024.

Justin Galloway, a 14-year veteran of Boxer, has been appointed CEO-designate, effective immediately. He will formally take over on March 1, 2027. A chartered accountant, Galloway has held senior roles in finance, store operations and supply chain at the company.

The succession process began when Boxer listed and considered both internal and external candidates.
