Boston Scientific invested $1.5 billion to acquire an approximately 34% stake in medical technology firm MiRus. The agreement includes an exclusive option to purchase the MiRus Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) business for an additional $3 billion. This potential acquisition depends on the achievement of specific clinical and regulatory milestones.

The investment represents the company’s third attempt to enter the TAVR market. This strategic move targets the treatment of aortic stenosis.

Separately, Boston Scientific entered a $2 billion accelerated share repurchase agreement with JPMorgan Chase. This buyback is part of a previously authorized $5 billion program. The company expects to complete the repurchase by the end of June 2026.
