Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) is collaborating with developer TerraSpark on the 1.6-gigawatt TerraSpark Energy Campus in West Virginia.
The U.S. Department of Energy awarded the project an $18.5 million grant to implement advanced environmental technologies.
B&W will design and supply four 400-megawatt supercritical boilers and a suite of emissions control equipment.
The company’s construction division will also provide services for the coal-based facility.
Technology firm Mantel will integrate carbon capture solutions to ensure the delivery of low-emissions baseload power.
