Shares of Camtek surged as investors digested a Q2 earnings beat and a second-half outlook that blew past Wall Street expectations, raising a pointed question: whether the stock's rapid repricing has already captured the good news or merely scratches the surface of a multiyear AI-infrastructure build.

Record Revenue Topped Estimates, but Profits Tell Two Stories. Revenue hit a record $133.2 million, beating the $130 million consensus and rising 8% year over year.

Non-GAAP earnings of $0.78 per share edged past the $0.76 estimate. But beneath the adjusted figures, GAAP operating income fell 15% to $27.2 million as operating expenses rose faster than sales.

GAAP diluted EPS dropped 33% to $0.46, weighed down by a 29% jump in operating costs and a $7.7 million one-time tax charge. Investors cheering the top line should watch whether spending discipline returns as revenue scales.

Q3 Guidance Leapfrogged the Street. Management guided Q3 revenue to $158–$160 million, well above the $149 million analyst estimate — roughly 20% sequential growth. The company expects advanced-packaging revenue to rise about 45% in the second half of 2026.

Camtek is targeting 30–32% non-GAAP operating margins by year-end , which, if achieved, would narrow the gap between its GAAP and adjusted profit pictures.

$600 Million in Orders Extends Visibility — and Execution Risk — Into 2027. Since January, Camtek has booked roughly $600 million in orders, with deliveries scheduled across 2026 and 2027.

Advanced packaging accounted for about 75% of revenue, much of it tied to AI applications.

A single June announcement totaled over $105 million from a top chip-packaging house and a leading high-bandwidth memory maker, all for 2027 delivery. That backlog is impressive but carries timing risk: orders aren't revenue until tools ship and are accepted, and any slowdown in customers' memory or packaging expansion plans could push deliveries out.

China Concentration Is Quietly Shrinking but Still Material. China is expected to contribute roughly 45% of 2026 revenue, down from 49% the prior year. With U.S. export-control policy in flux, Camtek's own risk disclosures flag evolving trade regulations as a material concern. Any tightening could crimp a meaningful revenue stream even as AI orders surge elsewhere.

At $175.84, CAMT has rallied roughly 19% in five sessions. The backlog justifies optimism; the question is whether margins and geopolitics cooperate.
