Cerebras Systems CEO Andrew Feldman reported that Elon Musk's SpaceXAI leased AI computing capacity to Anthropic. Feldman stated SpaceXAI's hardware was underutilized. He attributed this to weaker-than-expected early adoption of SpaceXAI's Grok model, which left expensive processors idle.

Feldman suggested SpaceXAI pivoted to renting its infrastructure to monetize assets, as its own model was not generating enough usage. The deal involves Anthropic using SpaceXAI's Colossus 1 data center. This center will power Anthropic's Claude AI models. Feldman characterized the move as a "pretty good idea" for a company facing a constrained market and idle capacity.
