The U.S. Commerce Department eased export restrictions on advanced AI chips to the United Arab Emirates on July 10. This new rule allows Cerebras Systems to sell to approved UAE entities, such as tech firm G42, without specific government licenses.

The policy shift recognizes the UAE's efforts to protect sensitive American technology and its strategic alliance with the U.S. UAE-based organizations currently serve as the largest customer base for Cerebras.

Removing these export controls eliminates a major regulatory hurdle for AI project expansion in the region. Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman praised the decision, noting the strengthening partnership between the two countries.
