Cameco resumed production at the Cigar Lake uranium mine in northern Saskatchewan following a suspension that began on July 1, 2026.
The temporary halt resulted from operational issues at Orano’s McClean Lake mill, which processes all ore from the mine. Repairs to the mill’s sulfuric acid plant are now complete, allowing processing and mining activities to fully restart.
Cameco confirmed the two-week disruption will not impact its 2026 production guidance. The company reaffirmed its annual outlook for Cigar Lake of 17.5 million to 18.0 million pounds of U3O8.
