Constellation Energy and Amazon signed a 20-year power purchase agreement to support expansion of the Calvert Cliffs Clean Energy Center in Maryland.
The deal enables more than $3 billion in investment in the nuclear plant. The project is expected to add approximately 190 megawatts of emissions-free generating capacity between 2030 and 2032.
The agreement gives Constellation revenue certainty as it pursues a 20-year relicensing for the plant. It will also help Amazon power its operations across the 13-state PJM market.
The partnership reflects a broader trend of large technology companies securing long-term, carbon-free nuclear power to meet data center energy needs.
