Cembra Money Bank AG reported a 6% increase in H1 2026 net income to CHF 92.3 million. A 9% reduction in operating expenses drove the growth. The company’s cost/income ratio improved to 43.5%. Net financing receivables rose 2% to reach CHF 6.7 billion.
Cembra agreed to acquire a major portion of Santander Consumer Finance's Swiss auto business. The deal includes a lending portfolio valued at approximately CHF 800 million. Management expects the acquisition to boost earnings per share starting in 2027. This move aims to strengthen Cembra's market position and expand its partner network.
Cembra shares rose 0.17% following the announcement.
