Binance will cease all services for European Union customers starting July 1, 2026. The world’s largest crypto exchange failed to secure a mandatory bloc-wide license under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.
The company withdrew its application in Greece following reports that regulators rejected the bid. A successful Greek license would have granted the firm passporting rights across all 27 EU member states.
Binance intends to seek a MiCA license in a different jurisdiction, reportedly France. However, the exchange will be unable to serve EU-based clients during the transition period.
The company has informed clients on fund management procedures and maintains that all assets remain safe. Binance is not currently instructing users to withdraw funds before the 2026 deadline.
