Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL) launched the Arc Layer 1 blockchain for financial markets and tokenized assets. The network processes transaction fees using USDC to eliminate the need for volatile native gas tokens.
Founding validators include BlackRock, the DTCC, Mastercard, Visa, and Standard Chartered. Arc debuted with more than 100 active applications and institutional participants.
This expansion shifts Circle’s business model from stablecoin issuance to providing foundational digital asset infrastructure.
