CoStar Group is nearing a deal to acquire housing data provider Zonda for approximately $800 million. Private equity firm MidOcean Partners is selling the entity. MidOcean originally created Zonda by merging Hanley Wood and Meyers Research.
The acquisition expands CoStar's footprint in the residential housing sector. Zonda provides specialized research and advisory services to the homebuilding and multifamily industries.
The purchase integrates proprietary data into CoStar’s residential marketplace, Homes.com. This strategy strengthens CoStar’s position against competitors in the U.S. residential property market.
