Delta Air Lines announced the cancellation of two domestic routes, citing underperformance. The discontinued services are from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Santa Barbara, California (SBA), and from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to Fairbanks, Alaska (FAI). These changes are part of the airline's continuous efforts to match its flight capacity with market demand and long-term performance expectations. The Atlanta to Santa Barbara route was launched in June 2024 as part of a leisure-focused expansion, while the Salt Lake City to Fairbanks service was a seasonal offering. According to reports, neither route delivered the required performance to be sustained. Delta will continue to serve Fairbanks through its hubs in Seattle and Minneapolis.
