The 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals overturned a September 2025 Trump administration order seeking to dissolve the Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico joint venture. Judges ruled on Thursday that the U.S. Transportation Department (DOT) failed to explain its reasoning for ending the decade-old alliance.

The court found the agency’s market analysis was unjustifiably limited and inconsistent with past practices. This ruling allows the carriers to continue coordinating schedules, pricing, and capacity on U.S.-Mexico routes.

The DOT previously targeted the partnership over concerns of anti-competitive effects. Delta and Aeromexico maintain the collaboration provides significant consumer benefits and improves connectivity between both countries.
