Delta Air Lines has introduced a new fare option called "Comfort Basic," which becomes available for booking on select routes starting November 19, 2025. This new class is designed to offer travelers the extra legroom associated with Comfort+ seats but at a more budget-friendly price point. However, this lower price comes with significant restrictions similar to basic economy. Passengers who purchase a Comfort Basic fare will not be able to choose their seat in advance, will face fees for flight changes or cancellations, and will earn fewer frequent flyer miles. This move is part of Delta's broader strategy to segment its fare offerings and provide more choices to customers, targeting those who prioritize space over flexibility. In other news, Delta also confirmed it is discontinuing two domestic routes from its hubs in Atlanta and Salt Lake City. The affected nonstop services are to Santa Barbara, California, and Fairbanks, Alaska. The airline stated that these routes did not meet long-term performance expectations.
