Deere & Co. agreed to a $99 million settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit filed in 2022. The suit accused the manufacturer of monopolizing repair services by restricting access to software and diagnostic tools. Farmers alleged these restrictions forced them into the authorized dealer network and increased repair costs.

The proposed settlement requires court approval and establishes a compensation fund for farmers. This fund covers those who paid for dealer repairs since January 2018. Deere also committed to providing digital diagnostic and maintenance tools to farmers and independent shops for 10 years.

Deere has not admitted any wrongdoing as part of the agreement.
