Citigroup raised over $40 billion for its Saudi Arabian clients in 2026 as of September 14. The bank is also increasing its direct risk exposure within the country.

Chief Country Officer Fahd Al-Dweish stated that expanded risk limits reflect the kingdom's strong financial landscape. Citigroup maintains its commitment to Saudi Arabia as a core growth market despite regional tensions involving Iran.

The bank issued new bonds on September 14 to assess its capital-raising capabilities. Separately, Citigroup strategists shifted to a neutral outlook on U.S. stock risk, citing a potential slowdown in artificial intelligence development.
