eBay completed its acquisition of social fashion marketplace Depop today. The deal was originally announced in February 2026. Seller Etsy received a final closing amount of approximately $1.4 billion, including purchase price adjustments and interest.
The acquisition aims to expand eBay’s $10 billion fashion category. The move specifically targets Gen Z and Millennial shoppers where Depop holds a strong market position. The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority granted final regulatory clearance for the deal earlier this July.
Depop will continue to operate as a standalone brand and community. eBay will provide global scale, shipping infrastructure, and compliance support to accelerate growth. The partnership focuses on the rapidly expanding circular fashion economy.
