The company seeks to restructure its finances to address a $1.5 billion debt maturity due on August 1, 2026. Hughes reported holding $102 million in cash as of March 31, 2026.
This move follows a recent prepackaged bankruptcy by another EchoStar unit, DISH DBS. The consecutive filings highlight the parent company's efforts to manage substantial debt obligations across its subsidiaries.
