Ecolab signed a definitive agreement to acquire CoolIT Systems from KKR for approximately $4.75 billion in cash. CoolIT Systems provides liquid cooling technology specifically designed for AI data centers.
The acquisition targets the growing demand for direct liquid cooling (DLC) to manage heat in high-density AI workloads. This move is expected to double Ecolab’s Global High-Tech market opportunity to $10 billion.
The transaction is scheduled to close in the third quarter of 2026. Ecolab expects the deal to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share by 2028.
