Equinor ASA formed a strategic exploration partnership with Aker BP and Vår Energi on August 24, 2026. The alliance seeks major new oil and gas discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf. This collaboration focuses on finding standalone fields to stabilize European energy supply after 2035.

Equinor signed a 15-year natural gas supply agreement with Germany’s Uniper. The company will deliver over 30 TWh of natural gas annually under the Uniper deal.

Equinor also secured a three-year crude oil agreement with Poland’s ORLEN starting in September. The ORLEN contract provides between 5 and 9 million tons of crude oil per year. These agreements solidify Equinor’s position as a primary energy supplier to Europe.
