Equinor signed a three-year agreement with Polish refiner Orlen. The deal involves crude oil. This crude originates from the Johan Sverdrup field. The field is located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The deal commences in September. It enhances the energy partnership between Equinor and Orlen. The agreement reinforces energy security in Eastern Europe.
Equinor will deliver between five million and nine million metric tons of crude annually. Deliveries will go to Orlen's refineries. These refineries are in Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic. This volume could satisfy up to a quarter of Orlen's yearly crude oil demand. The contract also includes options for other crude grades from the Norwegian shelf.
