easyJet plc cancelled approximately 100 flights to and from French airports for the weekend of August 15-16, 2026. The industrial action impacts major hubs including Paris, Nice, Bordeaux, and Lyon during a national holiday weekend.
Approximately 450 of the airline’s 900 French cabin crew members are participating in the strike. Unions initiated the walkout due to disputes over frequent and last-minute scheduling changes. Crew members claim these changes disrupt personal lives and childcare arrangements.
Management described the strike as opportunistic and noted that previous offers to improve conditions were made. The airline cancelled most affected flights on Friday to provide passengers time for alternative arrangements. Further negotiations between management and unions are scheduled for September.
