Ford Motor Co. closed its local sales subsidiary in South Korea after three decades of operation. The company transitions to a dealer-led import model under the new entity, FL Auto Korea.

FL Auto Korea is owned by Sunin Motor. Sunin Motor has partnered with Ford since 1995.

This strategic change favors a leaner, franchise-based approach over direct oversight. FL Auto Korea will handle sales and after-sales service for both the Ford and Lincoln brands.

Ford plans to launch four new sport utility vehicles in the Korean market this year. The transition begins with the launch of the Lincoln Nautilus full hybrid.
