Ford will begin local assembly of its Ranger and Raptor pickup trucks in Indonesia starting in 2028. The Indonesian government has received the company’s investment proposal outlining these plans. This initiative aims to bolster Ford’s presence and expand its network across the Southeast Asian nation.
The roadmap includes a total investment commitment of IDR 76 billion (approximately USD 4.6 million) toward the assembly operations. An additional IDR 25 billion will support the expansion of its dealer network.
Currently, Ford imports all vehicles sold in Indonesia, including the Ranger and Everest models, from Thailand. Establishing local assembly aligns with the company’s goal of expanding its vehicle lineup within the Indonesian market.
