AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon reached an agreement in principle to form a joint venture aimed at eliminating U.S. wireless dead zones. The initiative utilizes satellite-based technology to provide direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity in rural and underserved areas.

The three carriers will pool spectrum resources and coordinate investments to create a unified platform for satellite providers. This infrastructure aims to increase network capacity and ensure redundant connectivity during natural disasters.

The companies expect the alliance to accelerate American leadership in next-generation D2D communications. The venture remains subject to the negotiation of definitive agreements and customary closing conditions.
