AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon reached an agreement in principle to form a joint venture. The collaboration utilizes satellite-based, direct-to-device (D2D) technology to eliminate wireless dead zones in rural and unserved U.S. regions.

The alliance will pool limited spectrum resources and establish unified technical standards. This initiative serves as a strategic response to the rise of satellite competitors like SpaceX’s Starlink and AST SpaceMobile.

The venture remains subject to final agreements. It aims to accelerate infrastructure innovation, increase competition among satellite providers, and ensure reliable national connectivity regardless of location.
