Figma announced a bidirectional GitHub integration for its AI-powered tool, Figma Make. This update transforms the platform from a prototyping tool into a live, visual software editor.

Users can now import existing Git repositories into Figma to edit underlying code directly through the design canvas. Changes are pushed back to GitHub as standard pull requests.

The update replaces the previous one-way push functionality to allow iteration on existing codebases. All modifications remain subject to established engineering guardrails, including code reviews and continuous integration pipelines.
