Freshworks announced plans on May 5, 2026, to reduce its global workforce by 11%.
The restructuring will impact approximately 500 employees. CEO Dennis Woodside noted that AI already writes more than half of the company's code. The layoffs aim to increase the use of automation within internal operations and product development.
Freshworks expects to incur charges between $7 million and $9 million in the second quarter of 2026. These costs relate to severance and organizational streamlining. The company reported a 16% year-over-year revenue increase for the first quarter of 2026. Total revenue for that period reached $228.6 million.
