GE Aerospace and Kratos Engine Wins Military Contract for JASSM Missile

GE Aerospace and Kratos Defense & Security Solutions secured a U.S. Air Force contract for the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) of their co-developed GEK800 engine. The engine also received the official military designation F143-ZZ-100.

The 800-pound-thrust turbofan engine will serve as a second-source propulsion system for the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). This initiative expands the industrial base for critical missile components. It ensures production stability by providing an alternative to Williams International, the missile's current sole engine supplier. The engine is also designed for use in other uncrewed aerial vehicles.
