General Motors is developing a new 6.7-liter V8 engine. This motor represents the sixth generation of the iconic Small Block engine family. The V8 is rumored to debut in the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and may power future Cadillac models.

GM is funding the development through a substantial investment previously announced for its Flint Engine Operations plant. The company aims for the new V8s to improve both power and fuel economy compared to the current engine lineup.

This initiative underscores GM’s ongoing commitment to the traditional performance vehicle segment. The V8 development runs parallel to the company’s broader industry shift toward electrification.
