General Motors is investing $63 million in its Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant. The capital upgrades stamping operations for next-generation gas-powered full-size pickup trucks. Total funding for the facility reaches $1.5 billion since 2020.

This announcement follows the elimination of the plant's third shift last month. The workforce reduction impacted hundreds of jobs. GM also formally recognized the United Auto Workers union after a six-week strike.

These moves stabilize labor relations while maintaining the internal combustion engine truck business. The company is solidifying its traditional manufacturing footprint alongside its long-term electric vehicle strategy.
