General Motors renewed its brand partnership with Allison Transmission, reversing a decision made last year.
The Allison Transmission badge will be reintroduced. It will appear on the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks.
The move resolves a contentious issue. GM previously planned to stop using the Allison branding on its heavy-duty pickups.
While the actual transmission hardware was not changing, the removal of the well-regarded Allison name met criticism.
The new agreement restores the branding on the Allison-branded 10L1000 10-speed transmission. This reaffirms the longstanding collaboration between the two companies.
