General Motors filed a motion on January 2, 2026, seeking the dismissal of a class-action lawsuit. The suit relates to alleged brake master cylinder failures in several of the company’s 2025 vehicle models.

GM contends the plaintiffs lack legal standing. The company argues that the vehicles were repaired for free, meaning the owners suffered no actual injury or damages.

The lawsuit was filed by owners in New York and Pennsylvania. It specifically names the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave, among others. Plaintiffs allege GM knew about the defects before the vehicles were sold, claiming the issues diminish car value and make them unsafe. GM asserts these claims are conclusory.
