Chevrolet and Honda signed a multiyear extension as NTT IndyCar Series engine suppliers. The new agreement begins in 2027. This deal ends speculation regarding Honda’s departure.
Both manufacturers will develop a 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The engine features hybrid technology. This powertrain expects to debut in 2028.
Chevrolet and Honda will receive charters to own teams starting in 2028. GM President Mark Reuss noted the extension facilitates technology transfer to consumer vehicles.
